     Free websites on the internet is probably the best overall internet freebie of all.  There are hundreds of  locations to build free websites.  Free websites are free because they are ad supported.  This means there will be some type of advertising on the free website you create.  So obviously the free web space provider NEEDS you to build a free website at their location, as the more popular your site, the more ad revenue they will receive.
     So while you are becoming an expert site builder webmaster type person, you don't pay a dime.  You can take your time and learn to build a free website at your own pace.  Then, when you are confident enough, you can upgrade and remove all the advertising.  A true win-win situation.

     Building a site on a free host and watching your visitor traffic count increase every month is very rewarding.  Your hard work takes a lot of time to reap it's rewards.  Getting your meta tags just right and getting listed on search engines may take up to 6 months. The World Wide Web is very volatile. A free host  may decide without warning to discontinue free service, or shut down completely.  This may leave you and your website hung out to dry, without you even being able to re-direct your traffic to a new site, and you will have to begin again. You also have no control over the forced advertising the hosts put on your site.  You wouldn't want a banner link to an adult site, on a site promoting  your church.....
