     You have spent your valuable time building your website and you want people to come and visit.  You can tell your friends, but how do you get hundreds of visitors a day?  The only way to get a large amount of people to come to your website is to get listed in as many search engines as you can.  A search engine, such as Google, is a listing of all the websites on the internet. Your website will be found when someone does a "search" for a topic that your website.
     Of course you would want to be listed on the first page, but with millions of websites out there, there is a great competition for the top spots.  There are a few things you can do improve your chances of getting a better listing.  1. Make sure your Meta Tags are search engine friendly and your site is "optimized".  2. The content of your page text should be full of words that pertain to your website's topic.  3. Exchange links with sites similar to your site.  Inbound links increase the "value" of your site.  4. Be Patient !

     Most all search engines use "spiders" or "crawlers" to evaluate your site, and categorize it to be listed.  Due to the large volume of websites, it may take 6-8 weeks to get "indexed" and 2-6 months to get listed on a search engine.  Do not submit your website(s) more than twice a month, search engines frown on you "spamming" them with your website submission, and could even blacklist your site and you will never get listed.  You can check if your site is already listed by searching for it.
